- Friends and Family of Action in Africa -
This past weekend one of our very own Action in Africa employees was the victim of theft. Lawrence, our trusted boda (motorcycle) driver, had his boda stolen out of his house on Sunday night. Lawrence’s livelihood is dependent on his boda, as he earns his income by offering his transportation services to many individuals within the Nakuwadde community, including the staff and volunteers of Action in Africa.. The money he makes giving rides is used to put food on the table and to pay for his son's school fees. Without his boda, Lawrence will be unable to support his family and likely will delay providing the school fees for his son. For Lawrence—a man who values education as much as anyone in the village—this would be a travesty. Lawrence has worked for Action in Africa for over a year and a half. He has driven us all over Kampala, Wakiso and even Entebbe on his beloved boda. He has carried 6 mattresses at one time, delivered 10 cases of water in a single trip, and transported countless muzungus throughout southern Uganda. He's a crowd favorite among our staff and volunteers, and the service he provides is essential to our day-to-day operations. Please help us in surprising Lawrence with a new boda. He is most deserving.
Let’s put a smile back on his face.
Best,
The Action in Africa Team
