I once heard someone say that, "January is for dreamers and February is for doers." Well...we did a lot of dreaming (or in our case planning) in January, and now we're hard at work implementing all we've dreamed. This month we will welcome a new Country Director, dig in with our new Board of Directors, and grow with our expanding teams both in Uganda and the United States.
In Uganda, our programs are in full swing as students return to school and life for them returns to the predictability that gives us all a sense of comfort and ease. Parent meetings were held on February 4th for continuing students and their families, and the Primary Partnership Program will recommence on the 13th. We have lots of exciting news and updates to share and hope you'll scroll to learn more about what's happening at Action in Africa this month...
We are thrilled to introduce you to David Masiko, and announce that he will join Action in Africa on February 10th as our new Country Director in Uganda. He has 15+ years of experience working with vulnerable communities throughout Uganda, and a strong background working with national and international humanitarian organizations. The Center was alive with activity on February 4th as students and their parents came for an informational session! Action in Africa has enrolled 129 scholarship recipients this year and students returned to school this week.
