Impact Insights with KaSondra Gonzalez
of the Carver Family Foundation
For years, the road leading to The Center at Action in Africa was in dire need of attention. Potholes and uneven surfaces made every trip feel like an obstacle course, and dust clouds settled around The Center. Whether walking or driving, the journey was a bumpy one.
However, with incredible support from the Carver Family Foundation, we now have a newly paved driveway!
With construction complete, our community can enjoy a smooth, accessible, and safe road. This is more than just a physical upgrade; it's a pathway to new opportunities. A well-paved road enhances our ability to welcome visitors, provide services, and unite the amazing community of Nakuwadde. It literally paves the way for easier access to our programs and resources, ensuring that everyone—from students to staff, volunteers, and donors—can arrive at The Center with ease.
We are immensely grateful to KaSondra and the Carver Family Foundation, not only for funding this essential project with their generous $100,000 gift but for taking their support even further: their donation also served as a matching gift for our Digital Divide Campaign, doubling the impact and inspiring others to contribute. With their help, we tackled two crucial issues at once—improving access to The Center and bridging the digital divide for our community.
This gift ensures that our community center remains a welcoming place for all who come through our gates and strengthens our efforts to provide equal learning opportunities. Together, we’re not just fixing a road—we’re building a stronger, more connected community in every sense.
A huge thank you to our friends at The Carver Family Foundation for our newly paved road, symbolizing more than convenience. It’s a lifeline that connects us to a brighter future. By improving the infrastructure around our center, we’re making sure that Action in Africa can continue to serve as a hub for learning, community engagement, and empowerment. Here’s to a smoother journey, a stronger connection, and a brighter future for Action in Africa!
