Last year you pitched in and helped us purchase laptops for our staff and university students in order to give them the tech tools they need to be successful.
A year later, our staff in Uganda is continuing to grow and we have five new university students joining our University Scholarship Program. And while printers aren’t exciting, having a working one is crucial to the work our staff does. That's why we are coming back to you a year later to see if you will once again join us in supporting our tech-related needs in Uganda.
Together we are raising $5,000 which would allow us to purchase:
5 laptops for incoming university scholarship students to use at school
5 new laptops for recently hired Ugandan staff
A new printer for the AIA office in Uganda
Can you help us raise the funds required to provide our team and students in Uganda with what they need to effectively study and work? Thank you for your support!
Every year we award five of our Secondary Scholarship Recipients with full-ride scholarships to join our University Scholarship Program. In addition to fully covering their tuition for the duration of their program, we also provide them with a laptop. Before starting university, they spend six months interning with the AIA staff. A part of their internship program is participating in a rigorous IT curriculum with our on-site IT specialist, Eric, using their new laptops.
$400 allows us to buy a laptop for one university scholarship recipient.
Since we ran this campaign last year, we have hired two more full-time staff to join our team in Uganda. Our Education Specialist Christine and our IT Specialist Eric are both in need of having a laptop exclusively available to them in order to effectively do their jobs. Furthermore, the majority of our leadership team in Uganda have been using the same laptops for 6+ years. From fried batteries to keyboards missing letters, a handful of our staff are desperate for some tech upgrades.
$100 allows us to cover 25% of one laptop for an AIA staff member.
